Christmas Artisan Sale in Hudson

There is a great gift sale taking place in Hudson this weekend.  The Christmas Artisan Sale is in its sixth year and it boasts some wonderful artisans.  We attended last year and were so impressed that we wanted to be part of it this year.  Take some time to drop by and start your Christmas shopping.  You won't be sorry!

Happy Halloween

We disguised some of our standard cake pops for Halloween this year.  They made appearances at finer Halloween parties across the city.
Happy trick or treating tonight!

More Birthday Favours

Cake pops are super birthday favours.  The packaging can be customised for any theme and the cake pops themselves make kids (and adults) so happy.  Here is an example of another set that we put together.  We just needed to incorporate Jesse's favourite colour: lime green.

What a Cute Little Monkey

A client was looking for cake pops to bring to a shower but wanted to present them in fresh and traditional way.  Working with her, we came up with this "cake of cake pops".  It looks great as a centre piece.

How cute is he?  Here are the views from the sides.

Graduation Thank You Favours

Our client was looking for a custom tag to add to her six-cake-pop packages that she was distributing to attendees to a graduation party.  Working with his favourite colour - purple - here was the final result.
Here is a nice close-up of the tag.

Personalized Wedding Favours

These wedding favours are pretty charming aren't they?  Perfect for the charming couple we designed them for.  They can be personalized to suit any couple and are a nice change from traditional wedding favours.

Best wishes to Christine and Cedric!

And We're Back!

We have been back to work here at Le Petit Buttercup for the past few weeks.  New flavours and packages are coming your way in the weeks to come.  We hope everyone had a super summer and look forward to a brisk and colourful fall!
This is just a welcome back picture of a vanilla cake pop disguised as a chocolate one...

Le Petit Buttercup Holidays

We will be on holidays from July 22nd to August 12th.  If you have already placed an order for this time period, don't worry - your order will be delivered.  However, we will not be taking any new orders for this time.

We hope you are having a fabulous summer!

Circle of Cake Pops

These cuties were all decorated with a beautiful sugar flower for a wedding shower. The client loved all the flavors but wanted them to look more dressed up.

MacKenzie's 9th Birthday

Here is one of the packages that put together for our client to give away at her son's school to mark his 9th birthday.  Not only did the children love them, the school was happy to know that the cake pops were not made with nuts.

This is a better view of the tag.  They can be easily modified to incorporate any name, age or colour scheme.

Happy Father's Day

This is what we decided to create for Father's Day. We stayed with our signature Le Petit Buttercup colours and added a simple tag to personalize the special occasion.

Shades of Pink and Gray

Here are some party favours we put together for a client.  The sparkle on the tags is really fun and adds a nice detail to the overall look.

The client also requested a small hat box filled with cake pops for the guest of honour.  It think that this was a very nice touch!

Ice Cream Cones + Cake Pops = Very Cute

With that summer feeling finally in the air, we decided to disguise our cake pops as one of everyone's favourite summer treats, ice cream.  These make an excellent party favour for a summer bash.  The colours and tag can be customized but we are loving the beachy feel of the flip flops and bright colours.

Here is a closer look at the cute tags.

Lucky Number 12

Boy birthday party favours are always a fun challenge.  The world of baking and decorating tends to be much more feminine-friendly by nature.  Pastels and flowers are easy go-to themes but not necessarily a hit with the preteen boy crowd.  When asked to put together birthday favours for a client's son who is celebrating his twelfth birthday, we decided to keep the look bright and clean.  The result is both age and gender appropriate!

Here is a close-up of the tag.

Sarah's Birthday

It seems like just yesterday that I was putting together a post for Sarah's birthday.  However, it was exactly one year ago...  As a refresher, Sarah is Stephanie's lovely older daughter who turned ten in May.  To celebrate the occasion, Stephanie crafted a cake pop birthday cake that was a hit with the kids (and the adults).

The stick was each cake pop was cleverly replaced by a candle.

You're a special girl, Sarah.  Best wishes for the year to come!

Colourful Blooms

The Hudson Yacht Club asked us to modify the look of our cake pops so they would blend with the theme of their opening dinner dance.  The room was decorated with richly coloured flowers and tulle.  (It was very beautiful - I should have sneaked my camera along and snapped some pics...)   Here are a few examples of what we put together to incorporate the theme.
Here is maple dressed up with a turquoise flower.

Vanilla cake pops were sprinkled with sugar and topped with a coordinating pink flower.

Red velvet was disguised in purple.

Double chocolate was topped in sunny yellow.

Black, Red and Silver All Over

We were asked by a client to put together some favour packages for a 40th birthday bash.  The theme was black, red and silver and the guest of honour is - like most women I know - a shoe fan.  The image in the bottom right shows how we accommodated the colours (and the shoes!) into the customized tags.  We modified our standard vanilla and chocolate cake pop looks to mesh with the colours seamlessly and to make the whole presentation even more personalized.

We photographed the cake pops on a cake inspired display that we put together.  We have been looking for different ways to display the pops - especially for special occasions - and this type of customizable display fits the bill.  Stay tuned for the next few posts to see more of these in varying shapes and colours.

Baby Showers Bring May Flowers

While we have been busy preparing cake pops for various first communions over the past couple of weeks, we also had the chance to create some cake pops for a baby shower.  Baby showers are fun to work with as the theme tends to be fresh, cute and slightly traditional.  With that in mind, have a look at our standard baby boy and baby girl cake pops.

Perfect for a little princess.

Definitely for a little boy.

Giving Back: Missing Children's Network Update

A couple of weeks ago, we participated in the Mom's Shopping Night Out event in order to support the Missing Childrens Network.  Spearheaded by Studio Photo Cookie et sa garde-robe and hosted by CTV's Christine Long, the event was successful in raising funds for this important organization.

The event provided Stephanie and I with the opportunity to network with some great local vendors and to see what other entrepreneurs are up to.   In a stroke of luck, we struck up a conversation with Sophie - one of the photographers for Studio Cookie et sa Garde Robe.  Sophie was nice enough to snap some shots our our table.  Here are her pics below:
We offered samples to the shoppers by displaying halved cake pops in martini glasses.

A shot of our standard double packaging.  (Notice our new 'Le Petit Buttercup' ribbon!)

A nice close-up of the red velvet samplers.

Another shot of our standard packaging.  This time, the six cake pop package.

Happy Birthday Kate!

Our client's daughter Kate (Katie Bear to her family) is turning six.  She wanted to give cake pops to her birthday party invitees as opposed to the standard loot bags.  (We like little girls like Kate....)  As such, she picked her favourite cake pop (chocolate) and colours (yellow and green) and we did the rest.  Her mom suggested we add pink candies for the girls and green for they boys. The final result is a festive and "springy" loot bag that I am sure all the children will enjoy.

Easter Cuties

Here is a peek inside a box of cake pops a client wanted for her Easter dessert table.  The Easter yellow and lavender colour scheme is a great way to dress up the standard vanilla, chocolate and red velvet cake pops this time of year.

Long Distance Birthday Wishes

A customer called from New York hoping we could deliver a box of cake pops to mark her sister's birthday. (Her sister is in Montreal.) We happily obliged and surprised her sister with this spring-inspired box. A nice change from flowers!

Birthday Gift Box

Here is a beautiful box that can contain up to 15 cake pops. I love the window so people can see the wonderful assortment inside.  We can decorate it in many different colour schemes to suit all occasions.

I Love Coconut

When we started taste testing our coconut cake pops, the reactions of our taste testers were a little extreme to say the least.  It appears the people either love or hate coconut.  There was very little indifference to coconut; no grey area at all.  However, after a little coaxing/bullying on our part, we convinced some self-proclaimed coconut-haters to give these cake pops a try.  Although skeptical at first, the combination of chocolate cake, macaroon and graham won them over.  A win for the coconut lovers!

Christening Favours

Although we disappeared for the month of February, we don't want you to think we were not busy!  There were plenty of valentines cake pops to bake and package (Thanks so much to all who ordered!) and lots of birthdays to commemorate.  Additionally, we put together some custom orders including this little cutie above.  This cake pop (and thirty of his friends) traveled to the UK to help celebrate the christening of a dear friend's niece.  They survived the journey well only to be gobbled up by some appreciative party-goers across the pond!

Valentines Day Packages Are Here!

We have posted our pricing and packaging options for Valentines Day on the Packaging page.  They are a great way to say "Be My Valentine".
We'll make sure these boxes of six are filled with a variety of delicious flavours before they get to you ;)

You Are All Mine

Here is a great view of the label for package in the previous post.  I love the contrast of the black, white and red colour combination.  (With that in mind, I invite everyone to listen to "Fell in Love with a Girl" by the White Stripes and know that it is still has good as you remember.)

Thank you to the lovely Stephanie for this super set of photos!

Love is Sweet...And a Little Glamorous

The second set of packaging we put together for Valentines Day has a more glamorous vibe to it.  Lots of red hearts, a punchy font and thick black satin ribbon certainly help send the "Be Mine" message.
