Happy Belated Birthday

Things got pretty busy around the end of 2011!  So busy that updating the blog fell down the Le petit buttercup priority list...  Over the next months, we will catch up on some events and projects we had going on during that hectic time.

First up is the 5th birthday celebration of the great photography studio Cookie et sa garde-robe.  Not only are Kathleen and her team at Cookie et sa garde-robe wonderful photographers, but they are incredibly active in promoting the small business community.  They have been truly supportive of Le petit buttercup and we were happy to be included in their birthday festivities!  Here are a couple of shots of our cake pops at the party.  (Photos are courtesty Kathleen and her team!)

Personalized Wedding Favours

These wedding favours are pretty charming aren't they?  Perfect for the charming couple we designed them for.  They can be personalized to suit any couple and are a nice change from traditional wedding favours.

Best wishes to Christine and Cedric!

Circle of Cake Pops

These cuties were all decorated with a beautiful sugar flower for a wedding shower. The client loved all the flavors but wanted them to look more dressed up.

Shades of Pink and Gray

Here are some party favours we put together for a client.  The sparkle on the tags is really fun and adds a nice detail to the overall look.

The client also requested a small hat box filled with cake pops for the guest of honour.  It think that this was a very nice touch!

Colourful Blooms

The Hudson Yacht Club asked us to modify the look of our cake pops so they would blend with the theme of their opening dinner dance.  The room was decorated with richly coloured flowers and tulle.  (It was very beautiful - I should have sneaked my camera along and snapped some pics...)   Here are a few examples of what we put together to incorporate the theme.
Here is maple dressed up with a turquoise flower.

Vanilla cake pops were sprinkled with sugar and topped with a coordinating pink flower.

Red velvet was disguised in purple.

Double chocolate was topped in sunny yellow.

Tree of Love

This photo provides a much better view of the lovely heart-shaped tree that inspired this Valentines package.  Combined with the organza and satin ribbons, it is really very "pretty in pink".  (I invite everyone to rent this John Hughes classic and see if it is as good as they remember.  Here's a hint:  It is not.)

Be My Valentine?

Our Valentines packages are here!  We'll display them in a few consecutive posts so everyone can have a leisurely look at them.  We went for two very different looks this season with the hopes of appealing to a broad range of tastes.  The one in the photo above displays a very pretty approach to Valentines day with a delicate pink and red tag coordinated with some satin and organza ribbon.

Baby Showers

It has been a long time since I have been to a baby shower - my circle of friends seems to have moved passed that milestone.  I have to be honest, I do not miss all the ohhhing and ahhhing over onesies and sleepers or discussing Diaper Genies in great detail.  However, if I was offered a cute and delicious little morsel like the one pictured above, I would happily ohhhh and ahhhh again.  With sincerity.

We made these for a client who was throwing a shower for a coworker whose wife is expecting.  We even packaged some up for the mother-to-be since she missed the work festivities.  Best wishes to the whole family!

The Sweetest Thing

A customer requested a cute cake pop to give away as a thank you for a baby shower. She told us the theme was pink with polka dots but gave us total "carte blanche" on the packaging. The photo above shows what we came up with based on her budget. Not only did they look great in her decor, the Oreo cake pops covered in white chocolate - with a small hint of pink and sprinkle of  white non pareils - are sure to be a huge hit with the guests.

Fiesta Party!

OK - I will not go into a full explanation to justify the quality of the picture on this one.  Please just see the previous post and know that Stephanie will be back soon...

This cute little package was created for a client to give away at her daughter's 7th birthday party.  The children were taking salsa lessons during the party so the client was looking for a 'bright, fiesta-theme - but girlish'.  The sparkly cake pops and the bright packaging exceeded the client's expectations and the children loved the chocolate cake pops.
