Giving Back: Missing Children's Network Update

A couple of weeks ago, we participated in the Mom's Shopping Night Out event in order to support the Missing Childrens Network.  Spearheaded by Studio Photo Cookie et sa garde-robe and hosted by CTV's Christine Long, the event was successful in raising funds for this important organization.

The event provided Stephanie and I with the opportunity to network with some great local vendors and to see what other entrepreneurs are up to.   In a stroke of luck, we struck up a conversation with Sophie - one of the photographers for Studio Cookie et sa Garde Robe.  Sophie was nice enough to snap some shots our our table.  Here are her pics below:
We offered samples to the shoppers by displaying halved cake pops in martini glasses.

A shot of our standard double packaging.  (Notice our new 'Le Petit Buttercup' ribbon!)

A nice close-up of the red velvet samplers.

Another shot of our standard packaging.  This time, the six cake pop package.

Giving Back: Breast Cancer Event

We want to thank all of our friends and family who participated in Walk for the Cure events across the country this summer.  We donated some cake pops to the Montreal-based event to help support such an important cause.

Petit Buttercup Goes Fashion

Every year, the Ladies Committee at the Hudson Yacht Club hosts a fashion show.  The fashion show not only helps point everyone in the right direction for their spring/summer wardrobes, but it provides a venue for local business and raises money for a local charity.  This year, proceeds were donated to NOVA.

Erika is a member at the club and via some insiders* on the Ladies Committee introduced our cake pops to the organizers of this year's show.   In an effort to include entrepreneurs in the area, the committee ordered some of our products to serve after the show's wine and cheese.  Since the pops were being served to the attendees as they were seated at their tables, we made a point of labeling them so that the ladies would know what flavor they were indulging in.  Our little bites were a hit and we had a great night with all the ladies.

By the way, the show itself was amazing.  Neither the organizers nor the attendees were put off by the unseasonably hot weather.  The clothes were lovely, the emcees kept the tone light and pace relaxed and the models were super.  Notably, all models are members at the club and displayed a great range of looks and ages - the youngest ones in their 20's to a true role model at 90.  Wouldn't it be nice if all fashion was so inclusive?

Special thanks to the Ladies Committee for making us feel so welcome and putting together such a great event.

Giving Back: REVIVRE

We were approached recently to make cake pops to raise funds for REVIVRE. REVIVRE is an non-profit organization that provides support to people with anxiety, depression and bipolar disorders. (Please see http://www.revivre.org/home.php for more information on this association.) We were happy to be given the opportunity to help an organization that provides so much hope and support to people in our region. REVIVE relies one hundred percent on volunteers to carry out their mission; it was rewarding to be a couple of those volunteers for a little while. Best of luck to REVIVRE in their continuing fund-raising efforts!
